APRIA Technician

Tasks and Responsibilities :  

  • Working under the coordinator of the light service department

  • Responsible for the preventive and curative maintenance of breathing apparatuses as well as various fire equipment such as gas detectors, lamps, nozzles, etc.

  • Serve customers, which are located in the provinces of Quebec and New-Brunswick.

specific tasks : 

  • Maintain, verify and calibrate breathing apparatuses

  • Repair various equipment related to the field of firefighting

  • Perform inspections to prevent or detect problems with the equipment

  • Make technical diagnostics and estimate the cost of repairs that are needed to make the equipment functional again (parts and labor)

  • Identify any equipment that is considered non-compliant or is non-reparable and inform the customer

  • Verify the warranty of the faulty equipment and apply it if applicable

  • Perform final checks (after-repair) to ensure the quality of the service offered to our customers

  • Establish the elements related for invoicing of the service offered

  • Interact with customers and take the necessary steps to meet their needs and demands; in a timely fashion

  • Visit regularly our customers, using a mobile unit which is equipped with the necessary equipment to repair, maintain and calibrate

  • Read and follow the technical instructions given by the suppliers or detailed in the instructions manuals at your disposal

  • Take charge of related tasks.

requirements :

  • Education : College degree in Electronical Engineering
  • Experience in a related field is an asset.

                      

other requirements

  • Ability to communicate fluently in French (both written and verbal)

  • Requires a valid driver’s licence (class 5) and an excellent driving record

  • Be available for trips in the entire territory of Quebec and New Brunswick at least one week out of two

  • Be available during the evening and weekends

  • Good learning skills and aptitude for manual work

  • Customer oriented

  • Attention to detail, rigorous and thoroughness

  • Versatility, autonomy and sense of initiative

  • Bilingualism

  • A good knowledge of the Windows suite.
